The VPN industry wants you to believe you need a VPN for everything. That's not true. HTTPS encryption already protects most of your web traffic. When a VPN Genuinely Helps

Public WiFi Protection

This is the most clear-cut use case. Public WiFi at coffee shops, airports, hotels, and coworking spaces is shared infrastructure. While HTTPS protects the content of your connections, an attacker on the same network can still see which domains you visit, intercept unencrypted DNS queries, and potentially exploit vulnerabilities in your device's network stack. A VPN encrypts everything between your device and the VPN server, rendering all of this invisible.

ISP Data Collection and Throttling

Your ISP can see every domain you visit (via DNS queries) and can sell this data to advertisers in many countries.
